WETHINGTON, Randy Lee – 51
Randy Lee Wethington, 51, of Lafayette passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at his residence following a 5 ½ year battle with cancer with his wife and family by his side. Randy was born on April 17, 1961 in Danville, IL to the late Glen and Wanda "June" Humphrey Wethington. Randy graduated from North Montgomery High School in 1978. He married Sabrina Dewhurst on November 12, 2011, and she survives. He worked for several years as a fork lift operator at Rose & Walker Dry Wall Supply. Randy enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandsons; Jonathan and Giovanni.
Surviving are two step daughters, Kendra (husband: Jorge) Avila of West Lafayette, and Te-Ayrah Phillips of Lafayette, and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is one sister, Carolyn Gross of Mt. Vernon, MO, and Dan Wethington of Lafayette, and two grandsons, Jonathan and Giovanni Avila.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Samantha Wethington Burke, and a sister, Becky Booe.
Services will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one half hour prior at Simplicity Funeral Care.
